RQ: What kind of after school clubs do children want in our school?

Methods: questionnaire to parents; questionnaire to school pupils.

Findings: 100% of parents would be willing for their child to attend an after school club, and 64% would be willing to help. 94% of the pupils wanted more clubs at the school; 65% wanted different clubs for older and younger children; half would like an hour long club with the rest split between shorter and longer; half favoured three clubs a week with the rest split between one and two.

Outcomes: Project group’s plan shared with school: different clubs for smaller and larger children; pilot different types, 1 a week at first, involve the Urdd and others as guests to vary activities, share the organizing.

The project group and teachers attended a conference at Bangor University to share their research in June 2016 and took part in an evaluation of the project.
