Crownbridge 2018-19

RQ: What are the access issues in our community and what needs to change?

Methods: Field work: with the help of the local youth worker, the pupils successfully sought Hate Crime funding from the Police. With this they bought cameras to help document their daily lives and the barriers to access they face in their community.

Findings: On three research days the pupils counted and classified access issues on journeys to their local superstore, café and church.

Outcomes/Impact: Pupils created an iMovie, ‘A Day in the Life of…’ to raise awareness of their issues in the community https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_mWtq9399s&t=3s

The pupils were to meet the Childrens’ Commissioner for Wales in May 2020 to present their work and seek the best possible advice and support to uphold the pledges made by decision makers
