Methods: Questionnaire
Findings: 55% said children worry about bullying and 76% said they had been bullied. All but 2% would tell someone – teachers, family, friends. 51% had been too scared to tell an adult a worry. When doing so, 53% felt good afterwards, 48% worried or unsure. 97% felt safe at school, at home and where they live. The main thing adults could do is give children time to say their feelings (26%)
Outcomes: Recommendations were directed at raising children’s knowledge of their rights and how to get help if they are worried, via posters, films, books, assemblies, visitor presentations and meetings and using tools such as worry box and worry cards. Shared at celebration event with parents, head teacher, teacher, school governor.
